Challenge:

To design, install and maintain a splash zone inspired by Dippy the Dinosaur. To provide lots of fun and increase park visitor numbers.

Success:

Dippy’s Splash Zone at Roarr Dinosaur Adventure included the design, manufacture and installation of six bespoke Dippy the water playing dinosaurs and 31 water play products across the splash pad. The aquatic play products paint finish and wetpour surfacing are customised to match the colours and shapes of Dippy the water playing Dinosaur; providing a bright and cheerful area for children to immerse themselves in play.

The splash zone is divided into three bays incorporating a range of play items specifically designed for three age groups (toddler, family and teen). The focal point of the splash zone is an Elevations™ located in the centre of the pad consisting of a stairway to climb, two pipe-falls, four cannons, a Supersplash tipping bucket and an open water slide. Our choice of products guarantees an action-packed adventure and thrill for every age and ability. You just can’t beat the shrills of excitement that echo over Dippy’s Splash Zone when the bucket tips its load, creating a mini-tidal wave and soaking everyone in its path. The PWTAG compliant water management system ensures the water is of the highest quality for children to play in.

Mr. Goymour reports that the splash pad has met its original goal of attracting new visitors and has made Roarr! Dinosaur Adventure even more popular than before: “We have now operated Dippy’s Splash zone for three seasons, since September 2015 and the facility has provided the park with an extra influx of visitors, growing our visitors by 18% after our first full year in 2016. In addition, Dippy’s Splash Zone has been successful at extending the length of a visit and has increased park revenues through locker availability for visitor storage, the sale of towels, shirts, diapers and refreshments at Dippy’s Snack Shack.”
