Project: ( 4370 ) Ladram Bay Holiday Park
Client: FWSC Ladram Ltd
Architect: Ustigate Waterplay / Vortex International
Main Contractor: Ustigate Waterplay
Water Management: Recirculation System
Installation: 2018 / Area: 160m²
Challenge:
In 2017 Ladram Bay Holiday Park searched for a partner to deliver a project that would mirror their five-star status and selected Ustigate to design and build a splash zone outside their indoor pool complex. Ustigate Waterplay ticked all the boxes with their in-house designers, PWTAG accredited installation team, 100+ installations, their Vortex International products and long standing good reputation in the aquatic industry. The site location was an outdoor hard surface that was level with the indoor pool complex. This prompted 300mm of excavations to accommodate all of the anchor bases and pipe work between the plant room and features.
Success:
Set on the cliffs of East Devon with its own private beach and panoramic views out to sea is multi-award winning Ladram Bay Holiday Park, a family-run park that celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2018 by installing a splash zone for all Ladram Bay Holiday Park guests.
Ustigate Waterplay were delighted to design and build an ocean themed splash zone at Ladram Bay Holiday Park to celebrate 75 years of family sea-side holidays. The splashpad consists of 19 products to please all ages. There is a low level interactive fish, 6 jet stream geysers, 6 wave geysers to tickle small children and a boat feature, tipping bucket, cannons and a sea serpent to cater for all those that love nothing more than being soaked in splash. One of the wonders of a splashpad with zero standing water is the creation of an environment where children of all ages and abilities can access aquatic recreation and play together safely – Ladram Bay Holiday Park is certainly set up for more happy, wet and wonderful holidays, full of fun and laughter that guests are sure to remember.
The splash zone was opened by three-time world champion and gold medallist, Liam Tancock. Liam was happy to support the event because enjoying water at an early age can lead to the next generation of competitive swimmers.
